Gregory Alan Smith, 71, of St. Charles passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 21, 2023, at his home.  Greg was born June 21, 1951, in Melrose Park, IL the son of Robert and Mildred (Pihera) Smith.

Greg was a union carpenter for 38 years.  He was a talented woodworker and a man who can fix anything. He was known as the Pigeon Man for his hobby of raising and racing pigeons.  He enjoys spending time with his family and deeply adored his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his three children, Thomas J. Smith, Mark (Karen) Smith, and Christina (Paul) Kennedy; three grandchildren, Kennedy, Kensington, and Saylor; two brothers, Gary Smith, and Michael (Rachell) Smith; and his nieces and nephews; Gary (Diana) Smith, Jr., Amanda Smith, and Katrina Smith. 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2023, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 South Third Street, St. Charles, IL.  A funeral service and military honors will follow the visitation at 7:30 P.M.
