Joseph Ribnicek

December 20, 1927 - January 10, 2022

Joseph James Ribnicek, Jr. 94, of Batavia and formerly of New Mexico, passed away Monday, January 10, 2021, at River Crossing of St. Charles.  Joe was born December 20, 1927, in Chicago, IL the son of Joseph James Sr. and Rose Helen (Forst) Ribnicek. He was united in marriage to BettyLou Kleckner June 10, 1950, in Forest Park, IL.

Joseph was a talented master machinist and was employed for more than thirty years at Sunbeam Corporation. Joe proudly served his country from 1945-1948 as a Corporal of the US Marine Corps working as a guard but was also a member of the Bandsman Corp playing the saxophone. Joe was a quiet reserved man who kept to himself, worked hard, and was always available for his living family. He had a strong faith and most recently attended Trinity Chapel Church of God in Christ in Batavia.    

He is survived by his loving wife BettyLou; a son Paul (Bertha) Ribnicek; four grandchildren, Kimberlee Parra, Danny Ribnicek, and Erica (Chris) Lumley; great-grandchildren, Donte Parra, Gabriella Parra, and Noah Sandaval. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son. Joseph Henry Ribnicek, a granddaughter Jody Sandaval, a great-grandson Keifer Ribnicek; and his three sisters, Rose Karac, Betty Altman, Mildred LaBello.

Honoring Joseph wishes and to be cautious during the Covid19 pandemic there will not be any formal memorial or funeral services at this time.
